  1. What is your budget?

  3. Do you need a long battery life or a high performing camera?

Scenario-Based Recommendations:

  • Scenario 1: Limited Budget, Basic Needs: If you have a limited budget and primarily need a phone for calling, texting, social media, and casual use, the Realme 8 is the more practical choice. It is more affordable while having a larger battery for all day usage.
  • Scenario 2: Performance and Multimedia Focused: If you require high performance for gaming, multitasking, want a better display, advanced camera features and have the budget for it, the Oppo Find N2 Flip is the better choice, offering a premium user experience.
  • Scenario 3: Unique Form Factor and Portability: If you need a phone that is compact and can fit in your pocket easily while opening into a large screen, the Oppo Find N2 Flip is the clear choice.
  • Scenario 4: Photography focused: If you are a photography enthusiast you would want to go with the Oppo Find N2 Flip. The Oppo Find N2 flip comes with a better sensor, and additional photography options like RAW and Night mode. If you are specifically interested in close-up shots or black and white photography you may want to go with the Realme 8.

My Choice

If I were to choose, I would pick the Oppo Find N2 Flip. While it is more expensive, its advantages in performance, display, camera, and overall user experience are compelling. I value a smooth, responsive phone that can handle demanding tasks, and the Find N2 Flip's superior chipset, larger RAM, and 120Hz display are important for my use case. The foldable design is a bonus that offers both a compact form factor and a larger display when needed. Additionally, I also prefer the improved low light capabilities for the main camera of the Oppo Find N2 Flip as well as the additional camera modes, and reverse charging capability. Although the Realme 8 provides a larger battery, the Find N2 Flip charges faster, mitigating the difference to an extent. While the Realme 8 offers a dedicated Macro lens for close up photography, I would be willing to trade that for the many features of the Oppo Find N2 Flip.

The Realme 8 is still a good phone for those on a budget but the Oppo Find N2 Flip is much more aligned with my preferences and use cases.
