My Choice

If I were choosing between these two phones, I would pick the Asus Zenfone 8.

Here's why:

While the Realme 8 has a larger battery and is more affordable, the Asus Zenfone 8 is superior in areas that matter more to me personally. The significantly more powerful processor and smoother 120Hz display will lead to a much more enjoyable user experience. I also value a more compact design that fits comfortably in my pocket. The camera quality on the Zenfone 8 is also considerably better, with features like optical image stabilization and better sensors for low light. The superior audio quality with stereo speakers also makes a big difference. Additionally, the additional protection provided by the Gorilla Glass victus is a plus.

While the battery of the Asus Zenfone 8 is smaller, the increased performance, better display, camera and audio outweigh the slightly smaller battery for my use case. The future software updates for the Asus Zenfone 8 are also desirable for a longer lifespan. For these reasons I would be willing to pay the premium for the Asus Zenfone 8, even though both are very good options for phones.
