Design

The OnePlus 12, launched on December 11, 2023, features a glass and aluminum build with a premium feel. It measures 164.3 mm in height, 75.8 mm in width, and 9.2 mm in depth, weighing in at 220 grams. It’s available in three color options: Flowy Emerald, Silky Black, and Silver (Glacial White). The device is not foldable.

Display

The phone sports a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 3168 pixels, resulting in a pixel density of 510 ppi. The screen boasts a 120Hz refresh rate with adaptive capabilities ranging from 1 to 120 Hz. It supports 1 billion colors, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+, with a typical brightness of 600 nits, 1600 nits in HBM (High Brightness Mode), and a peak brightness of 4500 nits. Other display features include a hole-punch notch, 2160 Hz PWM, 240 Hz touch sampling rate, TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort Certification, DCI-P3 color gamut, a 10-bit panel, DisplayMate A+ certification, scratch resistance, dual-edge design, capacitive multi-touch, frameless construction and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for protection. The aspect ratio is 20:9.

Performance

The OnePlus 12 is powered by the Qualcomm SM8650-AB Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (4 nm) chipset. The octa-core CPU comprises a 1x3.3 GHz Cortex-X4 core, 3x3.2 GHz Cortex-A720 cores, 2x3.0 GHz Cortex-A720 cores, and 2x2.3 GHz Cortex-A520 cores. Graphics processing is handled by the Adreno 750 GPU. The phone's AnTuTu score is reported at 2110808 (v10). It incorporates RAM LPDDR5X and utilizes UFS Storage 4.0 with storage capacity options of 256GB, 512 GB and 1TB depending on the variant. There is no SD card slot for expandable storage. A cooling system is implemented to manage heat during intensive tasks.

Camera

The rear camera setup features a triple-lens configuration. The primary camera is a 50MP Sony LYTIA-T808 sensor (1/1.43", 1.12 µm pixels, f/1.6 aperture) with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), and 1-4 (2x2) pixel binning. The second is a 48MP Sony IMX581 ultra-wide/macro lens (1/2", 0.80 µm pixels, f/2.2 aperture), and the third is a 64MP OmniVision OV64B telephoto lens (1/2", 0.70 µm pixels, f/2.6 aperture) with 3x optical zoom, 6x hybrid zoom, 120x digital zoom and 1-4 (2x2) pixel binning. The front-facing camera is a 32MP Sony IMX615 sensor (1/2.74", 0.80 µm pixels, f/2.4 aperture) with 1-4 (2x2) pixel binning. It supports 8K video recording at 24fps, 4K video recording up to 60 fps with HDR and EIS, and slow-motion capture at 960 fps. Additional features include a LED flash, flicker sensor, noise reduction, 4K/8K Video, Digital/Optical zoom, digital and optical image stabilization, autofocus, touch focus, and a variety of photography modes.

Battery Life

The OnePlus 12 is powered by a 5400 mAh Li-Polymer battery, which is non-removable and supports fast charging at 100W. It also supports reverse charging and 50W wireless fast charging.

Software

The device ships with Android 14 and is expected to receive updates up to Android 18.

The OnePlus 12 is positioned in the medium price range. The 16GB/512GB variant has prices ranging from $649.99 to $974.45, depending on the region.

Connectivity
