Design

The Motorola Moto G35 measures 166.3 mm in height, 76 mm in width, and 7.8 mm in depth, with a weight of 188 grams. It features a standard, non-foldable design with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone is available in Midnight Black, Sage Green, Leaf Green, and Guava Red. It includes a USB Type-C 2.0 port, but lacks OTG. There's a 3D curved glass screen with scratch resistance protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Display

The device sports a 6.72-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a pixel density of 392 ppi. The screen offers a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10 support and a peak brightness of 1000 nits. The display also has a 240 Hz touch sampling rate. It features a hole-punch notch design, capacitive multi-touch capabilities, and a frameless aesthetic.

Performance

The Moto G35 is powered by the Unisoc T760 (6 nm) chipset. Its octa-core CPU is configured with one 2.2 GHz Cortex-A76 core, three Cortex-A76 cores, and four Cortex-A55 cores. Graphics are handled by the Mali-G57 GPU. The device scored 423,297 on the AnTuTu v10 benchmark. It is offered in multiple RAM and storage configurations including 4GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. It lacks an SD card slot for expandable storage.

Camera

The rear camera setup consists of a 50MP main sensor using a Samsung S5KJN1 ISOCELL sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, 0.64µm pixel size, and 1/2.76" sensor size, supporting 2x2 pixel binning (1-4). A secondary 8MP wide-angle lens is also present with an f/2.2 aperture and 1.12µm pixel size using a CMOS sensor. On the front, a 16MP selfie camera with an f/2.45 aperture is included. The camera system features dual-LED flash, supports 4K video recording at 30fps and 1080p at 30fps. It includes features such as digital zoom, digital image stabilization, autofocus, touch focus, HDR, panorama, and face detection, along with continuous shooting and slow-motion video capabilities at 120 fps.

Battery Life

The device is equipped with a 5000mAh Li-Polymer battery and supports 18W fast charging. The battery is non-removable. Wireless charging is not supported.

Overall Verdict

The Motorola Moto G35 offers a capable mid-range experience with a smooth 120Hz display, a decent camera system, and a substantial 5000mAh battery. The Unisoc T760 provides adequate performance for daily tasks and moderate gaming. However, the lack of expandable storage and the USB 2.0 specification may be limiting for some users. The phone features a good array of sensors, including an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Its design features and display capabilities put it in a good position in the mid-range market.
