Design

The Honor X7b features a plastic construction, measuring 166.7 mm in height, 76.5 mm in width, and 8.2 mm in depth, with a weight of 199 grams. It is not a foldable device. The phone is available in three colors: Midnight Black, Emerald Green, and Flowing Silver. The fingerprint sensor is side-mounted for convenient access.

Display

The device sports a large 6.8-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels, yielding a pixel density of 389 ppi. The display offers a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 850 nits. Its aspect ratio is 20:9. The screen includes a waterdrop notch and uses a 2.5D curved glass panel, supporting multi-touch and capacitive touch input. It is a frameless design. There is no HDR support.

Performance

The Honor X7b is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G (SM6225) chipset, built on a 6 nm process. The octa-core CPU consists of four 2.4 GHz Kryo 265 Gold cores and four 1.9 GHz Kryo 265 Silver cores. Graphics processing is handled by the Adreno 610 GPU. The phone's AnTuTu benchmark score is 249150 (v9). It is equipped with 6 GB of LPDDR4X RAM.

Camera

The rear camera setup includes a 108MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, a 5MP wide-angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture, and two 2MP lenses (one for depth, and one for macro) with f/2.4 aperture. The main camera has a 0.64 µm pixel size. Video recording capability is 1080p at 30fps. The camera features include digital zoom, quadruple camera arrangement, digital image stabilization, autofocus, PDAF, CDAF, continuous shooting, geotagging, panorama, HDR, face detection, and various shooting modes. The front-facing selfie camera is an 8MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. There is a LED flash on the rear.

Battery Life

The Honor X7b incorporates a 5330 mAh Li-Polymer battery that supports 35W fast charging. The battery is non-removable. The device charges via a USB Type-C port. Wireless charging is not supported.

Software

The device runs on Android 13, with a planned upgrade to Android 14.

Connectivity

The Honor X7b offers dual SIM (Nano-SIM) dual standby capability and supports a wide range of network bands including 4G LTE, 3G, and 2G. Wi-Fi connectivity includes 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax (Wi-Fi 6) with Dual-band, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, and Wi-Fi Display. Bluetooth 5.1 LE is present, with A2DP, EDR, and LE support. GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, and Galileo are also included. The USB Type-C port supports USB 2.0, OTG, and charging.

Pricing

The 6GB/256GB version of the phone is priced around $210.73 in some regions and $167.83 in others, while the 8GB/128GB version is priced at $349.00.

Overall Verdict

The Honor X7b offers a large display, a decent 108MP main camera and a large battery with fast charging. The Snapdragon 680 provides adequate performance for daily tasks and general use. The device provides a solid balance of features and price in the medium price category. The omission of SD card slot can be a drawback for some users who want more storage.
