Key Questions for Buyers:

  1. What is your primary use case? Gaming, media consumption, or everyday tasks?

  3. What's more important: Display and performance, or portability and battery life? How much do you value visual quality versus physical comfort and battery endurance?

My Choice

If I were to choose, I would select the ZTE nubia Red Magic 6 despite it's age. Although it lacks the complete feature set of the Redmi A2+, the performance capabilities and the display are simply far superior. The primary use case for a phone for me, is gaming and media consumption, and in that, the ZTE Red Magic 6 is significantly better. The lack of a camera on the Red Magic 6 is not an issue for me, as I rarely use a phone camera, and the larger, sharper, higher-refresh-rate display is a much more significant benefit for my use case. The Snapdragon 888 is still a very capable chipset, and will give a premium experience that the A2+ will not. Even without the specs for battery, I am likely to charge my phone regularly, and so this does not matter as much. While the Red Magic 6 may lack some convenient features, it excels in the key areas that I prioritize. The premium features of the display and the performance far outweigh the advantages of the other device for me.
