My Choice
I would choose the Sony Xperia 5 V. While the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G is a good budget option, the Sony Xperia 5 V offers a significantly better overall experience. The higher performance chipset, superior OLED display with a higher refresh rate, and vastly superior camera quality make it the clear choice for anyone who wants the best possible experience from their smartphone.
The compact size of the Sony is also a benefit, allowing for easier one-handed use, and the better connectivity features (such as WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3) provide a more future-proof experience. While the price is higher, the improvements in almost all areas make the Sony the better choice for my needs. Although it doesn't have a macro or depth sensor, which the Xiaomi has, those are minor features compared to the core camera advantages the Sony has. Also, the inclusion of things such as RAW photo capture and OIS is valuable to me as a photo enthusiast.
