4. Buying Decision Framework

Here are three questions to guide your decision:

  2. How important is performance to you? If you need smooth multitasking and gaming, the Poco M6 Pro is superior. If you only need basic functionality, the Redmi A1+ is adequate.

My Choice

If I were choosing between these two phones, I would absolutely go with the Xiaomi Poco M6 Pro. While the Redmi A1+ is appealing on the basis of its low cost, the Poco M6 Pro provides a huge upgrade in nearly all areas that matter, and provides a much better experience overall. The huge upgrade in performance, the excellent AMOLED display, along with the impressive camera and the fast 67W charging make it well worth the added cost. To me, the Redmi A1+ would be far too slow, with too many limitations to be enjoyable to use. The only user that should pick the Redmi A1+ is someone who is on an extremely tight budget. The Poco M6 Pro is far more capable and will provide a much better and longer-lasting user experience, making it the clear winner for me.
