My Choice and Why
If I were choosing between these two phones, I would pick the Google Pixel 7. Despite the higher cost, the overall user experience it offers is significantly better. The much improved performance with the Tensor G2 chip makes the phone feel much faster and more responsive than the Xiaomi Redmi 9T. The superior AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and higher brightness offers a much better visual experience, especially when outdoors and watching videos. And, the camera system is leaps and bounds ahead, which is an important consideration for me.
While I appreciate the Redmi 9T's large battery and included charger, I believe the compromises on performance, display, and camera quality are too significant for me. The Pixel 7 also has wireless charging which I use frequently. The Pixel 7 will also receive the latest updates, and having the latest software and security patches is a plus. For my personal needs, which involve frequent use of the camera and a focus on performance and a high-quality display, the Pixel 7 is the better investment, and I'd much rather spend extra for a better phone.
