Scenario-Based Recommendations:

  • Scenario 1: Gaming and Power Use: If you're a gamer or heavy user, the Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro is the clear winner. Its superior performance will make a noticeable difference.
  • Scenario 2: Budget and Everyday Use: If you primarily use your phone for basic tasks and prefer a lighter device, the Oppo A54 5G is more than sufficient.
  • Scenario 3: Balanced User: If you need decent performance but value a more lightweight and more complete camera experience, the Oppo A54 5G can be a good option.
  • Scenario 4: Media Consumption If you value a high refresh rate screen, better quality audio for media consumption as well as high resolution video recording, the Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro is the better option.

My Choice

I would choose the Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro.

While I appreciate the Oppo A54 5G's lighter build and newer Bluetooth, the performance difference is substantial. The Snapdragon 860 is a significant upgrade, and coupled with the 120Hz screen and faster charging, it provides a much more compelling user experience for me. The better screen, better audio and better video recording capabilities make it a much better overall multimedia device. While it's slightly bulkier, I'm willing to accept that tradeoff for the performance gains, which will give the device a longer useful lifespan.
