  • Scenario 3: You value display quality over a newer OS: Choose the Xiaomi Poco F3. The screen is a significant upgrade.
  • Scenario 4: You value battery life and the newest software above all else: Choose the Motorola Moto G23. The phone has a bigger battery and newer software.

My Choice

If I were choosing between these two phones, I would choose the Xiaomi Poco F3. The primary reason for this choice is the vastly superior performance offered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset. As someone who appreciates smooth multitasking, fast app loading, and the ability to play games without stuttering, this aspect is crucial. Additionally, the AMOLED display of the Poco F3 is significantly better than the LCD on the Moto G23. The higher resolution, refresh rate, and brightness significantly impact the overall user experience. While the Moto G23 has a better camera system with added lenses, I personally do not value this more than processing power, display quality and the multimedia capabilities the Poco F3 excels in. I am not a hardcore mobile photographer but do a lot of mobile media consumption and occasional gaming, where the Poco F3 is clearly the superior choice. The older operating system is a drawback, but the upgrade to android 13 somewhat mitigates that. Although the Motorola has a larger battery it would not be enough to sacrifice the Poco F3's superior hardware.
