4. Decision Framework

Key Questions for Buyers:

  1. How important is display sharpness and clarity? If display quality is of the utmost importance, then the S21 Ultra is the better option.
  2. How important is the camera and its capabilities? If video capabilities and having multiple lens types are important then the S21 Ultra is the better option; if general photo and low-light quality are more important then Pura 70 Ultra is better.
  3. How important is fast charging? If charging speed is important, then Pura 70 Ultra is the better option due to its 100W fast charging and 80W wireless charging.

Scenario-Based Recommendations:

  • Scenario 1 (Content Creation): If your primary use case is creating content, especially videos, and you prefer the Android OS, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is the better choice.
  • Scenario 2 (Photography Enthusiast): If you are most interested in taking high quality photos, particularly in low-light environments, the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra is the better choice.
  • Scenario 3 (Everyday User): If you need a phone for everyday use, value quick charging, and need excellent outdoor visibility, then the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra is a better option.

My Choice

I would choose the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra.

Here's why: While the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G has its strengths, particularly in video recording and display sharpness, the practical benefits of the Pura 70 Ultra are more compelling for my typical use case. The significantly better camera performance in low light, coupled with the much faster charging and brighter display, would offer a better everyday experience. The Pura 70 Ultra's larger sensor, pixel sizes, and wider aperture on the main camera are hard to ignore, and would be noticeable during everyday use. While the S21 Ultra's higher resolution screen is a nice feature, the Pura 70 Ultra's 2500 nit display would be a major win when using the phone outside in the sun. I'm not a heavy video user, and I wouldn't use the telephoto lens very much, so I don't need all of the extra features of the S21 Ultra. The faster charging alone would be a huge selling point as well. I find that I often need to quickly top up my phone, which means I will be spending less time plugged into a wall and more time out and about.
