My Choice and Explanation

If I were choosing between these two phones, I would choose the Samsung Galaxy S21+ 5G.

Here’s why:

  • Prioritization of Performance and Experience: While the A13 5G is newer and has some nice budget-friendly features like the Macro camera, my priority when using a smartphone is overall performance, display quality, and a great camera. The S21+ 5G offers a significantly superior experience in those areas, which I consider crucial for day-to-day use, media consumption, and capturing high-quality photos and videos.
  • Long-term Value: Although the S21+ 5G is older, its higher-quality chipset, display, and camera will still offer a far more satisfying experience for me in the next couple of years and the better chipset will offer a much more seamless day to day experience. The better hardware also means it will hold its value much better than the A13 5G, so I can sell it for more when I am ready to upgrade.
  • Future Proofing: While both phones are now slightly older, The S21+ 5G supports a newer generation of WiFi (6 vs 5), and more accurate GPS for location tracking, and also gets an additional year of OS updates, making it a more relevant and useful device for longer. The higher quality build will mean that it is more likely to survive for longer with less damage.
  • Camera Capabilities: I want a good camera, and the S21+ 5G with it's high quality sensors and extra lenses offers significantly more flexibility in different situations. This is more important than the additional lens options on the A13 5G.

While the A13 5G has its merits for budget-conscious users, the S21+ 5G aligns better with my needs for a powerful, versatile, and high-quality smartphone experience.
