My Choice

I would choose the Samsung Galaxy S21+ 5G. While it's an older device, the performance difference, superior AMOLED display, and significantly better camera system make it worth it for my use case. The difference in display sharpness and brightness alone is a deal-breaker. I also frequently use my camera and tend to edit videos so the advanced photo and video features in S21+ along with 8k video recording outweigh the benefits of the Moto G23. Even though the Moto G23 is lighter and has a slightly bigger battery, those advantages do not outweigh the premium features and performance that the S21+ provides. The Moto G23 is a budget-friendly device, but the older Samsung phone is much more capable for the way I use a smartphone.
