  • Price-to-Value Ratio: This phone is very low-end and may not be the best value for the money.

Honor X8b:

  • Use Cases: Gaming, social media, high-quality media consumption, photography and general daily use.

4. Decision Framework

Key Questions for Buyers:

  1. What is your budget? The Samsung A02 will be the cheapest, however, the value and experience offered by the Honor X8b is significantly better.
  2. How important is display quality and performance? The Honor X8b is far better.
  3. Do you take many photos and videos? The Honor X8b will be much better in this area.

Scenario-Based Recommendations:

  • Basic Use on a Strict Budget: If cost is the primary concern and you have very basic phone needs, the Samsung Galaxy A02 might be sufficient. However, even in this case, the Honor X8b is still the superior option if you can afford the extra money.
  • Daily Use with Good Performance: For a user who needs a phone that is good at most tasks, the Honor X8b is a clear winner, with its great display, performance, cameras, and features.
  • Media Consumption: If you watch movies/videos often, the display of the Honor X8b is far better.

My Choice

I would choose the Honor X8b. The vast performance difference alone is enough to justify the purchase of this phone. The other advantages, such as the AMOLED display, much better cameras, and much faster charging, make it a much better option in almost all scenarios. The Samsung A02 feels very much like an outdated entry-level phone from several years ago. It is simply not comparable to the Honor X8b, even at a higher price. The only advantage of the Samsung A02 is the larger battery and slightly better audio, however, these are simply not enough to make it the better option.
