  3. What features are most important to me? (e.g., display, camera, battery life, performance)

Scenario-Based Recommendations:

  • Scenario 1: Gaming Enthusiast: Choose Oppo Find X3 Pro. It's far superior chipset, high refresh rate display, and better audio make this the better option.
  • Scenario 2: Budget-Conscious Casual User: Choose Xiaomi Redmi 12C if you're okay with a basic screen and much lower performance, and you value long battery life.
  • Scenario 3: Photography Enthusiast: Choose Oppo Find X3 Pro for its advanced camera system, higher resolution, and versatile lenses.
  • Scenario 4: Media Consumer: Choose Oppo Find X3 Pro for its high resolution AMOLED display with a 120hz refresh rate and stereo speakers for a better video watching experience.
  • Scenario 5: Basic Daily Use: Choose Xiaomi Redmi 12C as long as you're okay with a significant drop off in all aspects of the phone apart from battery life, then this is likely the best option for you.

My Choice

If I were choosing between these two phones, I would choose the Oppo Find X3 Pro. The overall experience would be vastly superior, offering a much better quality display, more powerful performance for multitasking and games, a superior camera system and faster charging. Although it's older, the price has likely dropped since launch and would be much better value than choosing the Redmi 12C. The Redmi is adequate for basic tasks but the find X3 Pro gives a vastly superior experience.
