My Choice
I would choose the OnePlus 9R.
While the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G offers a larger battery, a newer operating system and slightly higher resolution on the main and selfie camera, the OnePlus 9R provides a significantly more compelling performance and overall user experience. For my typical usage, I value responsiveness and speed above all else. The much faster charging of the 9R further elevates its practicality. Although the Samsung A53 has a slightly higher DXOMark photo rating, the differences are not significant enough to offset the other performance benefits the OnePlus 9R provides, in addition to its wide angle lens having 4MP higher resolution than the Samsung. The older OS is somewhat concerning, but the performance difference outweighs this for my needs. While a larger battery is preferable, the extremely fast charging of the OnePlus 9R means that I would not need to worry about charging it for long. Furthermore, the inclusion of noise canceling and higher bandwidth WiFi further support the 9R. In conclusion, for a mobile device, I would prioritize the overall speed and performance of the OnePlus 9R which edges it out over the Samsung A53.
