Scenario-Based Recommendations:
- Scenario 1: Heavy mobile gamer or content creator: Choose the OnePlus 9R for its superior performance, display, and camera.
- Scenario 2: Budget buyer who needs a long lasting device: Choose the Moto G22.
- Scenario 3: Casual user who values a good experience: Choose the OnePlus 9R for its overall better experience with a better display and camera.
My Choice
I would choose the OnePlus 9R. While the Motorola Moto G22 has its advantages, namely the better battery, slightly more modern Android version out of the box, side mounted fingerprint sensor and a barometer, the OnePlus 9R simply offers a much more compelling package, offering a premium experience in nearly every area.
The difference in performance, display quality, and camera capabilities is significant. As a power user, I value a smooth and responsive device, with good image quality. While the battery is smaller, the 65W fast charging makes up for it. The higher quality display, advanced features, and significantly better performance outweighs the small differences in other areas for my use case.
The lack of any video recording features on the Moto G22 and general lower performance, makes the OnePlus 9R a much better all-rounder.
