My Choice
I would choose the OnePlus 8T.
Why?
Even though it is an older device, the performance gap between the OnePlus 8T and the Xiaomi Redmi A2 is enormous. As someone who uses their phone for a variety of tasks, including some light gaming, occasional photo and video capture, and frequent media consumption, the OnePlus 8T's superior processor, excellent display, and versatile camera system are much more valuable to me than the potentially longer battery life of the Redmi A2. The faster charging on the OnePlus 8T also mitigates concerns about battery life to some extent. For my usage patterns, the enhanced user experience offered by the OnePlus 8T is well worth the likely higher cost (depending on current pricing).
