My Choice
I would choose the Xiaomi Poco X6. While the iPhone 12 Pro Max is a very capable phone, and does excel in raw power and camera features, it is older technology. For my personal use case, the Poco X6's modern features (such as a higher refresh rate display, faster charging, better screen protection, better display brightness, and much better battery life) are more important to me than the raw power of the iPhone or it's camera system. The Poco X6 also has a more modern charging port (USB-C) which is much more convenient for most people and has additional audio codecs. The fact that it is significantly cheaper makes it a very attractive option for me.
