My Choice
If I were choosing between these two phones, I would select the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max. While it is a much older phone, the superior performance of the A14 Bionic chip, along with the much better camera system, and superior display make it the better choice for my personal use case. I am willing to pay a premium for a superior experience, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max provides this in all of the categories I value most in a smartphone. The Poco M6 4G is a fantastic budget phone that provides good value for the price, but its compromises in performance and display would be too significant for my daily use.
I'm aware that this is an older phone, but the processing power still holds up very well, and is the main differentiator for me in this case. The lack of brightness data for the Poco M6 4G was also a factor, since outdoor visibility is important for me, and the iPhone's 1200 nits would provide a far better experience.
