Which one would I choose?

I would choose the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Why?

While the Samsung A14 5G has a few advantages like a larger battery and lower price, the iPhone 12 Pro Max's superior performance, display quality, and significantly better camera system far outweigh those benefits for my use case.

I am a person that uses my phone for mobile photography and filming. The camera quality is not comparable, with the iPhone having better video recording capabilities, optical zoom and much more advanced photo features. The 12 Pro Max also has a higher quality display for photo editing and viewing content. I also often play mobile games, which the significantly more powerful processor on the iPhone will be essential for that use case. Although the battery is smaller on the 12 Pro Max, I do not mind charging more often for the trade-off of a much better user experience.

Overall, the iPhone 12 Pro Max provides a much better experience for my needs and provides better features and performance across the board, making it the preferable choice for me.
