- How often do you use the telephoto lens for zooming? (iPhone has a dedicated telephoto lens)
Scenario-Based Recommendations:
Scenario 1: Photography Enthusiast: If you want detailed zoom, you might prefer the iPhone. However, for better general quality, either phone is a good pick.
Scenario 2: Mobile Gamer: The OnePlus is better with 120hz, more RAM, and better battery life.
Scenario 3: Frequent Traveler: Both are good but the eSIM on the iPhone and the fast charging on the OnePlus may be beneficial.
Scenario 4: General Multimedia Consumer: If you consume a lot of media, the iPhone with the better screen and speakers may be the better pick.
My Choice
I would choose the OnePlus 10T. While the iPhone 12 Pro Max has some strong advantages, including better display resolution and a telephoto lens, the OnePlus 10T has a more well-rounded suite of features. The 120Hz display would be my priority, as a smooth experience is a huge benefit in regular usage, as is the fast charging. While the iPhone may be a better phone for photography, both will provide adequate photo capabilities. The OnePlus also has a larger battery which is important for me, as well as a more modern operating system. Overall, for the slightly better modern features in the OnePlus, it would be my choice, as the advantages of the iPhone (better display resolution, telephoto lens) are not deal-breakers for me.
