  2. What is your priority? Performance, portability, and camera quality (iPhone) or screen size, battery, and budget (Redmi)?
  3. What specific features do you require? Is wireless charging and ultra-wide lens needed or is reverse charging and a fingerprint reader more useful?

Scenario-Based Recommendations:

  • Scenario 1 (Performance & Portability): If you need a compact, powerful device that can handle demanding tasks, and have a higher budget, the iPhone 12 mini is the better choice.
  • Scenario 2 (Battery Life & Budget): If you want a large display, longer battery life, and a lower price, the Xiaomi Redmi 13C is the better option.
  • Scenario 3 (Balanced Needs): If you want a balance of good performance, decent display, and a more practical battery, look at other models, as neither of these phones provide that.

What I Would Choose and Why

Given my priorities and needs, I would choose the Apple iPhone 12 mini. While the Redmi 13C offers a compelling large screen and long battery life, I value a powerful processor, a high-quality display, and superior camera capabilities. I prefer a compact form factor for easy handling, and I’m already invested in the Apple ecosystem. I would gladly trade some battery life and larger display for the premium build, performance, and camera quality the iPhone 12 mini offers.

While the Redmi 13C does offer a newer version of bluetooth, more RAM options and a fingerprint sensor, those benefits aren't as appealing to me as the other advantages offered by the iPhone. Additionally, while I would prefer a more recent release date, the performance offered by the iPhone is a big enough benefit to make me happy with a 2020 model.
