My Choice
If I were choosing between these two phones, I would choose the Xiaomi 14T Pro.
Why?
While I appreciate the compact form factor of the iPhone 12 mini, my priorities lean towards having a device that excels in performance, media consumption, and photography. The Xiaomi 14T Pro's larger, brighter screen with its 144Hz refresh rate would significantly enhance my experience while gaming or watching videos. The significantly improved processor, coupled with the larger battery and fast charging, means it would be more future-proof, and better suited to demanding tasks and power consumption. The superior camera and 8K recording capabilities would allow me to capture high quality photos and video. Finally, I would like to have a fingerprint sensor for quick and easy unlock.
The difference in size is a trade-off I would be willing to make for the performance, battery, and camera advantages of the Xiaomi. Though the iPhone has its merits, it simply cannot compete with the technological advancements the Xiaomi offers. It really boils down to the fact the Xiaomi 14T Pro is much newer and its specs are in an entirely different league.
